A server only runs securely and fast if someone looks after it regularly. With a managed server we do that work for you - so you can focus on your core business, even without your own IT department.
What we take care of with a managed server
Setup
We set up the operating system, web server, databases and your applications exactly as your project needs - with Plesk or cPanel on request.
Updates & security
We install security updates continuously and keep your server securely configured from the ground up: firewall, secure access and only the services you really need.
Monitoring
We monitor availability, load and disk space of your server and react before a warning turns into an outage.
Backups
Regular backups of your data - and if something does go wrong, we restore it for you.
Help when it matters
Our support is available around the clock, including weekends and public holidays.
A personal contact
You talk to the team that knows your server - from Langenzersdorf near Vienna, in German and English.
What is a managed server?
A managed server is a rented server whose operation is handled by the hosting provider. With an unmanaged server you get the machine with root access and take care of everything else yourself. With a managed server we handle setup, updates, monitoring and backups - you simply use the server for your websites, shops, databases or business software.
A detailed comparison with a checklist is in our guide Managed or unmanaged server?

View WordPress hostingWho is a managed server for?
- Small and medium-sized businesses without their own IT department
- Agencies that host client projects but do not want to manage servers
- Online retailers whose shop has to run around the clock
- Medical practices, law firms and tax advisers with sensitive data
- IT departments that should focus on other tasks
Fully managed or individual tasks
Managed does not have to mean all or nothing. You can start with an unmanaged server and hand over individual tasks to us - for example just backups and monitoring - or outsource operations completely. Root access is also possible with a managed server: we agree who makes which changes so that nothing collides.
Managed servers in Austria and Germany
Your managed server runs in one of our data centres in Vienna, Frankfurt or Berlin. Your data therefore stays in the EU and within the scope of the GDPR. Your contract partner and contact is Evolus IT Solutions GmbH in Austria. More about locations and certifications: data centres.
Managed server FAQ
What is the difference between managed and unmanaged?
With an unmanaged server you manage the system yourself: updates, security, backups and troubleshooting are up to you. With a managed server we take over these tasks. Unmanaged suits developers and companies with their own IT, managed suits everyone who does not want to look after the server themselves.
Do I get root access with a managed server?
Yes, on request. We agree with you who makes which changes so that your adjustments and our maintenance do not get in each other's way.
How much does a managed server cost?
The price consists of the server itself and the scope of the management. Because every project has different requirements, we prepare an individual quote - free of charge and without obligation.
Do you move my existing websites and applications?
Yes. We move your websites, databases and applications to the new managed server - with as little downtime as possible.
Can I switch from unmanaged to managed later?
Yes. You can hand over individual tasks or the complete operation to us at any time - or take them back yourself.
When is support available?
Around the clock - our support is available 24/7, including weekends and public holidays.
